Cyberviolence Awareness Mobile App — UNESCO Chair, NUST

Context

The UNESCO Chair in Digital Technologies at NUST works on research and community interventions around digital safety and internet governance. This project sat within a broader programme on technology-facilitated gender-based violence.

Problem

Digital safety resources were fragmented and inaccessible to everyday users, particularly in communities with limited prior exposure to formal cyberviolence education. There was no locally-built tool addressing this gap in Namibia.

Approach

Led the full development cycle from user research and interface design to implementation and community deployment. Content and user flows were shaped by research into how cyberviolence affects women and marginalised groups in Southern Africa.

Outcome

The application was launched at ministerial level and covered in The Namibian. It was adopted by NGO partners for digital safety workshops, contributed to national-level conversations on online safety policy, and anchored the MSc thesis that followed.

Malaria Eradication Data Pipeline — World Vision International

Context

World Vision's malaria programme in Southern Malawi ran large-scale community health interventions across multiple districts. The programme generated significant field survey data that needed to be turned into actionable programme intelligence.

Problem

Field data from 50,000+ surveys was coming in without a structured pipeline for processing, quality control, or visualisation. Programme teams needed timely insights to adjust operations and report to donors, but the data wasn't in a usable state.

Approach

Built data processing pipelines and reporting dashboards to clean, structure, and surface field data for programme decision-makers. Worked closely with the programme team to understand what questions the data actually needed to answer.

Outcome

The dashboards gave the programme team reliable, near-real-time visibility into field operations for the first time. The processed data directly informed health policy decisions and field adjustments across Southern Malawi, and became part of the programme's donor reporting infrastructure.

AI-Powered Employment Matching System — African Development Bank

Context

The AfDB's work on inclusive job market access across Africa required digital tools that could handle high-volume recruitment processes without bias and with strong alignment to the Bank's development mandate.

Problem

Manual CV screening processes were slow, inconsistent, and created barriers for candidates from underrepresented backgrounds. The Bank needed a more equitable, scalable system for matching applicants to opportunities.

Approach

Designed and tested an AI-powered web application using machine learning for CV ranking and candidate matching. Integrated secure coding practices and CI/CD pipelines, and tested for usability and system reliability throughout.

Outcome

The system improved the efficiency and consistency of recruitment workflows and contributed to the AfDB's broader work on inclusive employment across Africa. The project aligned with the Bank's High 5 priorities and SDG targets on decent work and reduced inequalities.

Website Redesign — Coalition of Manitoba Cultural Communities

Context

CMCCF is a nonprofit serving 20+ minority cultural communities in Manitoba, Canada. Their website is the primary way members find services, events and organisational information. Making accessibility and clarity non-negotiable.

Problem

Poor navigation, limited mobile responsiveness, and accessibility gaps were making it hard for community members many of whom have limited digital literacy to find and engage with the organisation's content.

Approach

Ran a usability audit, restructured the content architecture, and redesigned navigation and key user flows with a focus on accessibility and mobile responsiveness. Kept the community's actual users at the centre of every design decision.

Outcome

The redesigned platform improved usability and accessibility across devices, making it significantly easier for members across 20+ cultural communities to navigate services and engage with the organisation's work.
